At present, there are roughly three types of structural models of blast furnace bottoms and hearths at home and abroad: large carbon brick structures, small carbon brick structures, and bone china cup structures.
The salient features of blast furnace bone china cup craftsmanship are:
1. Prevent the penetration of molten iron. The 1150°C isotherm is trapped in the ceramic layer, coupled with the special design structure of the bone china cup and the thermal expansion of the material, the brick joints are tightened, and the penetration and erosion of the carbon brick by molten iron is greatly reduced.
2. Weaken the active flushing of molten iron. The use of bone china cups must have a reasonable dead iron layer depth, generally 20% of the hearth diameter. After the dead iron layer is deepened, the flow direction of the molten iron in the hearth is changed, so that the machine washing of the molten iron to the furnace bottom and hearth wall can be reduced.
3. Improve the thermal shock resistance of the hearth. The use of bone china cups can increase the temperature of molten iron by 18~25T, reduce process energy consumption, and create favorable conditions for steel making production.
4. Easy to operate the blast furnace. Due to the increase of the heat reserve of the hearth, it provides a good condition for consolidating the production of the blast furnace, activating the hearth, and controlling the re-airing.
Because the thermal conductivity of the bone china cup brick is small, it has the effect of heat preservation on the molten iron in the hearth, so it can increase the temperature of the molten iron and reduce the power consumption; The layout of furnace bottom and hearth has been developed rapidly.
The French bone china cups used in many large blast furnaces in my country have a good effect, and the life of the furnace bottom and hearth has been greatly improved. Under the premise of high smelting intensity, the furnace bottom and hearth can ensure safe production.
